Join the Watershed Agricultural Council and the Westchester Land Trust in a Riverkeeper Sweep and Trees for Tribs event! We will be planting trees and cutting vines.
Hunter Brook Preserve is the site of a 6 year stream protection effort through the Trees for Tribs program. Attendees will learn proper planting techniques and how to protect plants from deer including cages and tree tubes. We will also use a technique called “live staking” in which living branches are staked into the steambank. These live stakes will take root and protect the streambank from erosion.
Registered attendees will get a ticket for a free beer at one of many participating breweries.
Gloves will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own.
Attendees should park along the street in designated areas and meet the group in the parking lot for Hunter Brook Preserve. A map can be viewed from the registration page.
