Farm Best Management Practices

Best Management Practices (BMPs) are conservation practices meant to prevent or reduce the amount of pollution generated by non point sources (in this case agriculture) in order to protect and enhance water quality.

Operations and Maintenance
Once a Whole Farm Plan is completed and Best Management Practices (BMPs) are operational, participants receive and acknowledge a BMP Operations & Maintenance Agreement, often referred to as an O&M.

Farmer Education

Helping Farmers make informed decisions
Farmers can make intelligent decisions about how to effectively manage their watershed farms if their knowledge base includes the latest science. The Farmer Education Program offers a full calendar of “off-the-farm” workshops and conferences offered through a partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension.
