Farms and Forests Protect Open Space and Clean Water
WAC Economic Initiatives seek to improve farm and forestland viability by promoting the success of agricultural and forest products businesses. A complementary outreach effort raises awareness among rural and urban residents about how important farm and forest land is in protecting open space and clean water. In agriculture, Farm To Market Projects offer farmers a range of tools to support business viability, from business plan development and marketing workshops to efforts to improve buying and distribution networks. In forestry, similar marketing tools are developed to improve and enhance the marketing of wood products from the Catskill and watershed region.
